This last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting with my father and nephew this weekend and learning from each other. My father used this on the breach plug, screws, and the cap nipple. I used what I now know to be an inferior product. At the end of the day his weapon disassembled much easier than ours. He has been using this product for years. I ordered this as soon as I got home.

This is the same synthetic grease — a slippery silicon/PTFE waterproof grease — that I’ve used for many years on swimming pool filter O-rings and PVC valves. This Thompson Center-branded 0.8-oz tube has a very small nozzle that can deposit the grease precisely. But a full 3-oz tube runs $4.49 here on Amazon. I’m still using the tube of Super Lube I bought 30 years ago. If I had known this was the same stuff, I would not have purchased it. A toothpick loaded from my larger tube of Super Lube would have worked just fine.https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-21030-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000XBH9HI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1544304436&sr=8-4&keywords=super%2Blube&th=1

After firing my muzzle loader about 10 times, this product works great. Removing the breech plug is easy when you clean it after every shot.

for a firearm lubricant. I shoot more than a two thousand rounds per month practicing for various competitions. It is clean, slippery and easy to remove when cleaning. My firearms actions are extremely smooth which I attribute mostly to this “gun grease”.
