It’s power steering fluid. It’s a good (Prestone) brand so you should feel confident of its quality. The price is the same if not less than at the auto parts store…The best part is it comes (quickly) directly to your home without any traffic or checkout lines. What more could you ask for?UPDATE NOTATION(5/2/14):I had recently (March 2014) installed new tires on my vehicle and it felt as if the tires were shaking a bit. I asked the tire shop if it may be balancing. The technician said it was probably the rack & pinion system where changing the fluid may help. He was right!I used this power steering fluid to flush/replace my old (blackened) power steering fluid. I am very happy with the results making my steering much smoother within the rack & pinion system. Now, after a couple of months, still no more shaking!

I was swapping engines on my 1990 Chevy K2500 truck and getting the old pump off the engine was a pain that required a special tool to pull off the pressure fitted pulley to get to the bolts that held it in the frame. After that little ordeal it seemed foolish to put that old pump back in so I replaced it. The quart I purchased was just under 5-bucks and the same price as the closet auto parts store that is 40-miles away. It wasn’t enough to top off the new pump & hoses but when I can back for another quart the price was over 6-bucks in just a few days. I did get another quart in town at the lower price and everything seems fine with the pump and steering.

My 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe was whining under the hood whenever I started car. My car was whining so bad that if you would have seen my nice Tahoe coming down the road you would have thought there was a clunker nearby! I It turns out the pouring steering reservoir was bone dry! I I put half of a bottle of this in there and the reservoir was full, and still had half of a bottle left over for later for emergencies. As far as I know it fixed my issue, I still have to figure out why it leaked all the fluid in the first place. Make sure to keep that in mind when you use this because this power steering fluid doesn’t contain “stop leak” so it won’t solve your leaking issue but should stop the whining issue.

Good product, but never get the Prestone that has the stop leak included. The Prestone stop leak version produces a pink gunk!Edit: Amazon is the only store I can find a big bottle of Prestone Power Steering fluid WITHOUT the stop leak additive.
