Pennzoil marine xlf extended life formula outboard 2-cycle synthetic blend oil was developed for engines that are “seasoned” or have been in service for a few years. The robust formulation makes marine xlf extended life formula outboard 2-cycle synthetic blend oil also very suitable for new high-displacement/horsepower carbureted or direct injection outboard motors. It contains only ash less components which helps prevent any lubricant related resignation and spark plug fouling. It’s anti-gel properties help resist gel formation due to water or other contamination.
- For best performance, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations in your vehicle owner’s manual.
- Xlf outboard two-cycle oil mixes easily with gasoline, and is dyed Blue to allow for easy detection. Follow engine manufacturer’s recommended fuel/oil ratio for premix systems
- Maximum additive treatment, including increased detergency over the TC-W3 formulation
- Nmma TC-W3 certified
- Protect against piston-scuffing
- Keep performance-robbing carbon deposits from forming in the combustion chamber, piston tops and under crowns and piston-combustion rings

Used about 2gallons in the boat (seadoo speedster) this summer..both engines still run good. If it was junk, my engines would have fried with the way we ran the boat.

First thing, the XLF or extended life formula is the version of this oil with the most additives to lube inside the engine. Now, I’ve been reading forums with tons of posts where they recommend using 1oz of this oil every 5 gal of gas, it is a small ammount, won’t clog your catalytic converter as this burns ashless. The thing is that with that tiny bit of oil in the gas, all the injection system, from the low pressure pump to the high pressure pump, injectors and upper cylinder area get lubed and cleared of any carbon deposits.I have been using this for that, and also my 2022 Toyota sienna went from 38mpg to 42mpg, I’m planning on using this for a long period of time each time I fill the tank.

I’m not paying $40 a gallon for 2 stroke oil. I’ve used this for years without issue. I run it in my boat, yard equipment, and even snowmobiles years ago. I still buy it and it’s still cheap. As long as it stays cheap, I will continue to buy it.

Purchased this to use with my string trimmer. Didn’t pay attention it was for marine use till after it received it. Used it in my trimmer, edger and backpack blower for many hours (I use my equipment commercially) everything worked as with any other 2cycle engine oil. Now some of these many non engineers posting that it’s for marine use only may disagree. But I ask you this, how does the engine know if it’s being used in a boat? It doesn’t! A 2stroke marine engine works on the same basis as any other 2stroke engine.
