At a little under 6 bucks a quart itβs the best price Iβve found. I hope the 3p seller that has this on prime doesnβt run out.I fill/drain our fusion (about 4 quarts) every 20-30k Miles. And at 24 bucks (only using the 4 quarts that come out) a change I know itβll be well worth it. I realize fords manual calls for 100k intervals on the auto, but get real thatβs a joke. You want a car you can brag about hitting 200k on the stock transmission, drain and fill as much of the fluid as you can every 30k and youβll be happy. When you have an 8 year old car, the auto tranny needing to be replaced or rebuilt can total a small car in my eyes. Not letting that happen.Have a 2012 piece of crap Chevy Cruze that gets changed at the same intervals and so far no issues, and these cars are known for transmission issues.

The fluid was brownish at just over 100,000 miles. My 2013 Fusion S has an approximately 9 quart capacity and about 4.5 quarts are drained from removing the drain plug. After draining through the drain plug, I filled it with 4.5 quarts and removed the oil cooler return hose (located above the left axle shaft region) started the engine and drained 2 more quarts, then turned the engine off and filled it with 2 more quarts, repeating this until the ATF turned the clean red color – this was right at about 9 – 10 quarts using a marked 2-gallon bucket. The new fluid helped transmission shifting. Rather than wait for 150,000 miles, I will be changing the fluid every 30,000 miles.

I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL with the 3.0L v6, which means I have the 6F35 transmission. If you don’t know about this transmission, then let me give you a crash on it. The trans filter is non serviceable. Over time, the transmission will start to shift harder and harder between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. Sometimes it feels like it’s slipping, or shifts harder than normal. After a bit of driving, it seems to smooth out. The rule with this transmission, is to drain and fill the trans fluid ever 30,000 miles. The suggested way to do this is to drain the transmission (usually about 4 qts) Fill it up, start the car, with your foot on the brake, run through the gears. 5 seconds in each gear. (P, R, N, D, M) Shut off the car, check the fluid. If it is still full, drive the car around for a bit. (10-20 miles) Drain and fill again, do the same steps all over again. Then do it a 3rd time. This makes sure you get most of the old fluid out. A trans flush is strongly NOT recommended on these transmission. All this being said, this is the fluid that Ford recommends for this transmission. (it is right on the trans dip stick) The case is all you should need to do this process. 3 drain and fills should get you about 75-80% fresh fluid.I plan on ordering another case in 30,000 miles.

Just drained n filled my tranny for 2nd time now and even the second time the fluid looked like mud. Tranny definitely shifts smoother in 1st & 2nd gear. Before it used to slip when it was too cold but is better now. Thinking of getting another case and doing it again around 100k since everything wasnβt flushed out the first two times. 2011 escape xlt 4cyl 88k miles
