If you live in California this might be your only choice to prevent expensive repairs from frozen windshield washer fluid. Apparently the enviro-wackos have decided that water doesn’t freeze in California and we shouldn’t have this. The problem is that in order to get a suitably low freeze point, you have to ignore CA law and mix this at about 1:1 ratio. That will get you around 0 F. Anything less and you barely do better than plain water with blue dye. At 1:1 ratio you will need 4 of these to make a gallon and you will be spending about $24 per gallon. If you travel out of state you can buy the ‘old’ stuff at any truck stop for about $3 per gallon and get freeze protection to -20 F. The best reason to buy this is to put into your system BEFORE you get to the cold country, then buy the ordinary non-CA kind and fill ‘er up the rest of the way. Make sure to buy an extra gallon or two and bring them home with you so you have some for your next trip.

Not enough anti-freeze to make this worth it. Many other products out there already. To get freeze protection you will only get a few quarts per bottle. There should be a back of bottle label on this. I am sure its great for non freezing climates.

I’ve only used one gallon of this and there was no problem.

Nothing against Gunk, but it’s description is sort of misleading. Yes, you can make 6 gallons with the entire bottle, but … the then the solution can freeze below 32Β°. I wanted a gallon solution good to -20Β°. To do this, you would have to use the entire bottle (plus some) to make one gallon. I will stick with store bought during the winter months.

Work great for me. I live where I donβt need antifreeze windshield washer most of they year. As winter approaches, I add this to the summer blend already in the vehicle reservoirs. This way I donβt have to drain out the summer blend but it doesnβt freeze in the cold weather mixed with this product.

It works as advertised. Good value

I bought this so that depending on the weather, I can adjust the freeze point of my windshield washer solution and use less chemicals… stronger in winter and less in summer. Also, the concentrate bottle takes up less space… HOWEVER, the “up to 6 gallon” claim on the label is a little deceiving… you’ll only make about one gallon with this bottle if you need “antifreeze” properties.

Use an empty one gallon jug of empty windshield cleaner solution, and mix this concentrate with water for the appropriate freeze protection needed. Use less in Summer, more in cold weather. Easy, and VERY inexpensive compared to buying $3+ jugs of premixed cleaner. I’ll never buy pre-packaged overpriced jugs again.
