   The product does work like it is supposed to. However, it leaves a film on the window visible in some lights. I haven’t seen it, but my girlfriend has on her way to work in the morning. Also, I’ve never encountered re-freeze like I had with similar products.

   At the beginning of winter and one of the first freezes (probably only about 25°F or higher), a light icy coating formed on my windshield. I wanted to save it for when the ice was really bad, but too anxious to try it out. I too easily used just about a whole can putting a light to medium coat on my front windshield only (after brushing off the light snow that barely laid on top) and it seemed to be like adding warm water — the ice film melted some then refroze up an inch lower. I also didn’t notice that it refroze one of my wiper blades to the windshield, so when I turned the wipers on and one didn’t move, it loosened the wiper bolt or burned the motor, not yet sure which. (At least it was the passenger wiper!)

   I live in central NYS, and I usually use another brand for de-icing my van, but when I ran out I decided to try this because of the good price and great reviews. My teenage son sprayed it on the windshield and said, “Wow! Mom, you’ve got to look at this!” It also has a good, strong, wide spray that can go a good distance. I am a convert, and will be buying HEET from now on.

   an easy winter with HEET – works great and so easy to use – makes my life great cause get off work at midnight and no more waiting around to defrost – definately a safety issue at night

   At least several cans on hand. I gave a couple to some friends. I’ve used another brand that I bought in the auto store and when I couldn’t seem to get any I went to Amazon (as I usually do) and found this product.It’s great!If you have to deal with ice on your car windows – I urge you to get several.

   With the horrid winter we’ve had in the Mid-Atlantic, this stuff saved me from many a morning of frozen fingers and desperately trying to scrape off an inch of ice that won’t budge. Lifesaver, really.

   Now that winter is here, I can give a review, as I ordered this last spring. I gave one to my daughter. There was an ice storm yesterday and she said it works. There was a half an inch of ice covering her entire car. She said she sprayed it on, waited a minute then began chipping and scraping her windshield. Then she sprayed it again. After she was able to get into her car and start it, things went better with the defroster and heater on.She thinks it might work good if you spray the windshield before the storms come. Maybe the ice won’t stick to it. Either way, it did work and she made it to work on time.In summary, this product works, but you may need to reapply it if there’s a lot of ice.
