Seems like this is Castrol’s replacement for the former green jug magnatec oil. I have used the GTX white jug, the green jug oil, or the Edge black jug oil, whatever has the best price when I need an oil change. I change the oil in the five cars I maintain (just a typical family with multiple drivers) every 4K miles on each car without fail, so I tend to buy a few of these 5 quart jugs every two or three months.I doubt I will every have an engine problem in any of the cars due to a lack of fluid changes. At 4K, the oil comes out black but just as sticky and fluid as when it went in. I believe that the 10K+ oil change intervals is crap and that a 4K interval is the sweet spot where I’m removing the suspended contaminants just before the oil itself can break down, regardless of which Castrol oil is used.
