I bought this in the hopes that I could use it to detect water leaking into brake calipers. I am no chemist, but there was no adverse reaction between this stuff and DOT 4 brake fluid or with Never-Seez. It was also able to detect water droplets immediately when tested. Unfortunately, it turned colors immediately in brake fluid so it will not work for that part of my testing, however, that does prove the product works and in more than just gas.

Used for finding water in petroleum vessels. (ASTs and USTs) Leave in tank for at least 5 to 10 minutes to definitive result of water level in bottom of tank. Have used this product for years.
