The product arrived in time. Motul products are great. However, this Motel Brake fluid was manufactured April 2021, almost 10 months old. Brake fluids have a limited shelf life.

Having run many brake fluids on street-driven, occasionally-tracked vehicles, Motul 5.1 has become my go-to brake fluid for all around performance on anything that isn’t track-dedicated. Track fluids like RBF600/660 have marginally higher boiling points but are much more hygroscopic and have much shorter lifetimes between changes, this 5.1 has a lifespan more like a conventional OEM-style brake fluid but gives temperature characteristics closer to those racing fluids. If you like a good brake feel even when putting some heat into the system, but don’t want to commit to frequent changes like racing fluids demand, 5.1 is the ticket for your DOT 4/5.1 system.
