This can be used in any car requiring DOT 3 or DOT 4 (or earlier) Brake fluid. I have purged the old brake fluid in 2 of our cars and replaced it with ATE SL.6 Brake Fluid and find it has increased braking power resulting in shorter stopping distances. This fluid offers lower viscosity than other fluids, allowing it to pass thru the smaller openings used in modern ABS Braking systems more easily, resulting in more responsive and efficient brake operation. It will also improve your cars ABS Brake function, allowing the brake system to pulse more quickly and stop your car faster on high speed panic stops or when braking on slippery, wet roads. REMEMBER, your cars brakes require changing the brake fluid EVERY 2 YEARS. If you have not had the brake fluid changed in more than 2 years have it done NOW. You will be surprised at how much better the brakes work after the fluid is changed, and if you select this fluid you will also be surprised at how much smoother and more quickly your car stops.

This is the equivalent to using using dot4+, its made to be used in vehicles that have an on-board electronic braking system, a Automatic Braking System. I use to use ATE 200 which is the equivalent to using using dot4, but the older ATE 200/dot4 fluid seemed to make the on-board electronic braking system on my 07 Volvo x70 feel very clunky when it got engaged. Honestly it always felt like I was trying to stop a tank anytime the on-board electronic braking system got engaged. So I figured when I was doing my regular 24 month maintenance which includes transmission, power steering and brake fluid flushes that I would try this new brake fluid. And I am glad I did because this new ATE SL.6/dot4+ fluid seems to make the on-board electronic braking system on my 07 Volvo x70 work more smoothly, and so much so, that the clunkiness I use to feel when using the older ATE 200/dot4 fluid has completely disappeared when the on-board electronic braking system is now engaged on my 07 Volvo x70!

Ok, I was skeptical about this new ATE fluid and very tempted to stick with the ATE Type 200 which has been totally reliable. But after talking to some BMW experts (for real experts), they all said to stick with this new fluid for the most recent cars because of the narrow passages in some of the brake control systems. They only exception would be for running the car on a racetrack, in that case this is too thin and you want to use a fluid specified for racing.

A good product for DOT3 OE Upgrade Brake Fluid, although it’s a product of DOT4 standard. Reasonable dry and wet boiling degree. 80% street 15% heavy duty 5% track day using. If you want to put some stuff on your car for track day, I recommend you try another product by Ate: Type 200.

I’ve been using ATE SL.6 for my Jaguar XJ8 over the last 6 years with great results. Jag recommends brake fluid changes every 2 years. Since ATE made the brakes on this vehicle, I’m happy to use their brake fluid instead of the Jag rebranded fluid.

I have been using Ate brake fluid for many years for every BMW that I have owned. Itβs quality and reputation give me confidence. (I donβt track my cars and cannot remark track worthiness.) I do wish, however, that Amazon would change or update the product packaging photos because what I received is a different package design and that gave me pause to consider whether or not the product I received was authentic Ate. Flushed brakes on my 325i earlier today and the pedal feels fine.

it’s good enough for me. Have used this to flush my brakes for over a decade. Never had a problem with it.
