- Brand: Bar’s Leaks
- Liquid Volume: 16.9 Fluid Ounces
- Recommended Uses For Product: Anti-Friction
- Seal ConditionerΒ β stops current and prevents future leaks by protecting and reconditioning seals.
- Extreme Pressure (EP) and Anti-Wear (AW) AgentsΒ β provide excellent metal-to-metal wear protection reducing noise and gear temperatures. Our sulfur, nitrogen and phosphorus additives meet the requirements of API GL-4 and GL-5 specifications.
- Friction ModifierΒ β supplements the EP/AW additives to help reduce noise and wear. This in turn helps shifting in a manual transmission and also stops chatter in limited-slip posi-traction axles.
- Performance Additive BoosterΒ β includes tackifying agents and highly sheer-stable multigrade viscosity modifiers to keep oil on the gears and bearings where it can better lubricate, especially at higher temperatures. Pour Point Depressant (PPD) allows product to flow even at very low temps.
- Manufactured in the USA, this product works in all manual gearboxes, differentials, open & posi axles and more. Stops pinion, axle, output shaft and other seal leaks. Reduces grinding, whining, clunking and protects gears.

I have a 2003 Land cruiser that leaks front diff fluid (front axel seal) I bought it and discovered the leak when changing gear fluids. The front diff fluid may not have been ever changed in 205,000 miles. The fill plug differs from the other plugs in that it is a torx. It looks like someone tried to get it out with a hex and failed. Anyway when draining it came our as a gelatinous black goo. The plug has a long tail of metal particles in the goo.. Except for the black goo very littke fluid came out. Anyway I changed the fluid and the leak was obvious and the diff whining as well. I used this product and it seems to have slowed the leak somewhat but the whining is still there. In all fairness I haven’t driven the vehicle that much after adding the product. So it may require more miles as inducated in the label. I gave it a 4 because I believe its doing something sliwing the leak and may work better if I drive more miles at a time. I also think the damage to the diff and seal may be too severe to remedy with a chemical.

I am a mechanic and I used this in one of my old Safarivan rear differential and it took away about 80% of thenoise. I forget it making noise while driving and haveto focus my hearing to hear a little. Way better. I havethe stop leak I want to try in a different vehicle and I thinkit won’t work because the leak is so bad but if it helps a lotI’ll be happy. I simply have not had time to do total restoreand fix … yet. Great product this here bottle being reviewed.

I’ve had a constant small drip coming from the rear differential of my Porsche 928. I just added this stuff as a hail Mary option before going to the shop. I drove it around a bit and NO LEAK! We’ll see over time, but as for now…great purchase.

Bar’s leaks has some decent products. So while no one with any mechanical aptitude expects a fix in a bottle, I was hoping this would lessen the issue until I have a chance to help the my kid rebuild the axle in his truck (maybe 6-12 months). Sorry to say it does little to nothing. The dripping might even be getting worse, though I would expect that is to do continued wear of the seals, and topping off diff fluid.

I added this product to my gearbox because it was way too noisy. I thought that given the Mini Cooper S high mileage that something was either worn or about to break. So to my surprise this product got rid of the noise and the gear changes are so smoothly selected now. Its like a brand new gearbox was installed. I am writing this review after about 12,000 miles.

I changed axle bearings and seals. later one of axle seals started leaking. Lube level dropped in differential low enough to add 16 ounces of this additive. After driving several miles, my leak stopped. Used dawn liquid in spray bottle to was fluid from leak off rim.

I have used this product for several years in my vehicle and also the lower unit of my boat. Works well.
