   Used this to bring new life to a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse auto (117xxx miles) that had been sitting for about a year, project ongoing… This thing was suffering from some serious grandpa syndrome, and a bad case of neglect. Shifting was rough and some gears would not fully engage with clutches slipping, I thought this transmission would need an immediate rebuild. I figured $60 is worth a try over a $1500 rebuild. Did a hot drain-and-fill with the case of 6 quarts, and the old fluid looked like coffee.The first test drive showed immediate results even in the parking lot, shifting into reverse just glided into gear, at first I thought it didn’t engage. The test drive yielded smooth shifting, and 300 miles later it keeps getting better. Sport mode chirped the original tires from first to second, and every shift over half throttle is a quick responsive positive pull. It still needs time to work in, and I have another drain-and-fill planned at 500 miles to make it just over 80% new fluid, but I’ll wait for the top-notch detergents to clean more garbage out before the drop.I also used RP 5w-30HMX (high mileage) and RP’s oil filter for the engine, it runs smoother and quieter, and now I can hear valve lash out of adjustment, which is a good sign you’re running a good oil, easy fix when I replace the valve cover gasket.UPDATE: FEB 2017Car is at 138,000 miles and still haven’t done the second drain and fill, transmission still shifts better than some new cars. I did however start using RP’s filter and 5w-30 HMX in the engine and picked up 3-4mpg overall, and freed a stuck lifter. Car is still going strong according to a friend I just sold it to.

   There are many important parts on a vehicle. Among the most important are your engine and transmission. Take care of those and you could have a more reliable vehicle. My transmission was slipping slightly while merging on the highway which I do quite often. I drained 3 quarts out of my 2007 Toyota Corolla S and replaced it with 3qts of RP ATF. No more slip and gear shifts are almost unnoticeable. With the old oil the vehicle took so long to shift compared to what it is like now. (Never changed the transmission fluid since I owned it-5 yrs)

   Love this stuff had to buy online due to my local business being out of stock. I used it in my g8 gxp in place of dex vi works great though GM would probably beg to differ

   I’ve been using royal purple atf in most of my Honda:/acuras and the transmissions love it, it shifts smooth, accurate and better temperature control

   My Infiniti Q50 has 70k miles on it. It really didn’t have anything wrong with from a shifting/transmission point of view. I really just wanted to do a little preventative maintenance. Of course, Infiniti recommended nothing but the factory ATF. I honestly trust the quality of Royal Purple over anything that comes from the factory. The RP ATF definitely improved the shift quality. It’s smooth and crisp now.

   Just a quick comment my transfer case has been half falling apart on the inside and as a last resort I decided to go to a really cheap option that never works . You guys know I just drained and replaced with royal purples pure synthetic ATF . There’s no fix it in a bottle kinda not really . Yeah I am not planning on taking it apart to fix while it’s running this smooth and quiet NOW !!! Thanks royal purple, I caught a break finally
